IRI's Health Ministry urged travelers on Wednesday to avoid visiting the United States and Mexico because of fears over the swine flu outbreak.
No cases of the potentially deadly virus had yet been spotted in Iran but incoming travelers would be screened at international airports.
Mohammad Mehdi Gooya, who heads the health ministry's disease control, urged travelers to "postpone trips to infected countries such as the United States and Mexico until the disease calms down."
