President Hassan Rohani here Thursday meets with the UN Secretary Generals Special Envoy on Syria Affairs Lakhdar Brahimi on the sidelines of the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly.
President Rouhani in the meeting emphasized the urgent need for resolving the Syrian crisis, reiterating, The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to contribute to resolve that crisis.”
The president, meanwhile, emphasized, Everyone must try to put an end to war and bloodshed in Syria in the shortest possible time.
Lakhdar Brahimi, for his part, expressed delight over meeting President Rouhani and presented a report on the latest developments in the Syrian conflict.
He also expressed hope that the Islamic Republic of Iran would participate in Geneva II Conference on Syria.
