Islamic Republic of Iran was crowned in the men's under-19 volleyball world championship after crashing China 3-2 in a breathtaking game Monday.
IRI youths stunned spectators in this edition of games played in the northern Mexican Baja California state by sweeping the title from favorites.
The Iranian volleyballers set the pace in the second set after ceding the first set of game 21-25.
They powered their way through with 25-22, 26-24 in two successive sets.
They squandered a handful of points in the fourth set when everyone was prepared to celebrate to cede 31-29.
However, they made for the flap and won the last set with a convincing 15-7 to lift the trophy.
