President of the Mexican Senate, Carlos Navarrete, has said his country has a positive viewpoint toward the Tehran Trilateral Declaration inked by Iran, Brazil, and Turkey on nuclear fuel exchange.

According to IRNA, in a meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in Mexico City last night, he added: "Usage of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is not the right of the big powers alone, and belongs to all nations."

Navarette said Mexico, alongside Iran, will make every effort to find a logical and peaceful solution to the issue.

The Iranian Foreign Minister for his part enumerated the vast potential for mutual cooperation, saying the Iranian Majlis is keen on cooperating with the Mexican Parliament and Senate.

Mexico is currently a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
