Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami, has emphasized that the final word on the nuclear issue will be from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and that he will have the final say.

Addressing a huge crowd of Friday prayers worshippers and the faithful in Tehran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami referred to the key role played by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the nuclear negotiations, and moving the talks forward, emphasizing that in the Vienna nuclear talks Iran proved to the world that it is not after nuclear weapons.

Commenting further, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami said the nuclear issue is a national concern for Iran, all the Iranian people are concerned about the nuclear issue, and thus, he argued, this is not a partisan political issue, and all of us should work together to bring the nuclear issue to a successful and satisfactory conclusion.

Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader went on to say that the Iranian nation is always vigilant with respect to the conspiracies and plots of the “Great Satan” United States. He pointedly added: “The rhetoric of US officials against Iran is primarily intended for domestic consumption at home”.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami said the options on the table in relation to Iran are nothing new – in fact, he said, they are very old options --- Iran is not after war and belligerence, but if our enemies make a mistake, then Iran’s armed forces will give them a crushing response, and the Americans will regret their actions.

Commenting further, Ayatollah Khatami said the “Death to America” chant in Iran is not an emotional chant, the Iranian nation has suffered more than 50 years from US repression, coercion and mischief, and so the chant of “Death to America” is a genuine chant, it comes from the bottom of the heart, and it is a genuinely felt.

Referring to a number of trips by European business and economic delegations to Tehran over the past week, Ayatollah Khatami emphasized that these trips show the Europeans are very keen to have a share of the lucrative Iranian market, and that the Europeans need Iran’s resources.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader said the United States of America is the real culprit behind the current crises in Syria and Yemen, and it is the US who is enabling the Aal-e-Khalifa regime to commit crimes against its own people, and it is the US which is aiding and abetting the Zionist regime in its crimes and atrocities against Palestinians.

Ayatollah Khatami emphasized that Iran will keep on assisting lawful and legitimate struggles within this region.
