Amoli Larijani: US Prominent Example of Country which Sponsors Terrorism

(IRIB) - Iran's Judicial chief, Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani, has said the United States is a prominent example of a country which sponsors terrorism. In a meeting on Wednesday with senior officials of Iran's judiciary, Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani commented on earlier remarks by various members of the US Congress, who had openly called for assassination and terror attacks against a number of senior Iranian military and political officials.

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani pointedly added: "Those at the highest levels of the US government, who preside over state-sponsored terrorism, have become particularly brazen and shameless lately, since they are openly calling for targeted assassinations of Iranian officials, and they are using the media to broadcast their call for assassination".

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani added: "Member s of US Congress loudly call for terror attacks against senior military commanders of Iran's Qods Force (part of the IRGC). Iran is proud of the Qods Force, and how else can one describe this, other than state-sponsored terrorism. The US government is now showing its true colours ".

In further remarks, the head of Iran's judiciary said Western countries have tried very hard over the years to project themselves as champions of human rights in the world. Ayatollah Amoli Larijani added: "But despite all these efforts, today everyone realizes that the hands of Western Leaders are stained with the blood of countless innocent individuals around the world".

The head of Iran's judiciary went on to describe a number of examples of US military invasion and occupation of various countries. He added: "The Americans attacked Iraq under the pretext of finding weapons of mass destruction, but later, they admitted themselves that no such weapons were present in Iraq".
