An Iranian lawmaker says US allegations about Iran's role in a plot to assassinate a Saudi diplomat defy logic and are unbelievable even to American analysts.
According to Press TV, Head of Iran's Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Monday that if Americans have solid proof to back their allegations they should relay it to Tehran through their interest section at the Swiss Embassy.
He said “Americans know better than anyone else that the scenario for the assassination of the Saudi ambassador to Washington is fabricated and a politically motivated game.”
Boroujerdi said Iran has been the main victim of terrorism in the past 32 years and has lost thousands of its people and officials to terrorism.
The Iranian lawmaker said “The new US conspiracy ….is aimed at disturbing Iran's relations with its neighbors because we have official ties with Saudi Arabia.”
