Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, emphasized today that during the past 32 years, the Iranian nation has emerged with flying colours in the face of numerous challenges and difficulties, thanks to its faith in God Almighty, resilience and foresight. He was confident that without the least doubt the Iranian nation will continue to emerge victorious, with its head held high, as it faces the many challenges which lie ahead.
In a meeting in Tehran with tens of thousands of high school and university students on the threshold of the anniversary of the capture of the US den of espionage by revolutionary students on November 4 1979, the Leader stressed that today many lessons can be learnt from the events of that historic day, and that faith in God Almighty, along with resilience, steadfastness and foresight will ensure the attainment of our goals.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the 13th of the Iranian month of Aban, corresponding to November 4, as a divine day, and said such brilliant and outstanding occasions in the history of the Islamic Revolution, are an opportunity for deep thinking and foresightedness concerning future steps and planning based on the lessons learnt from the past.
The Leader underlined trust in the infinite power of God Almighty coupled with resistance and awareness, as among the features of the campaign that day for materialization of an ethereal objective, which initially appeared to be a hard-fought and unimaginable triumph of that day. He added that in fact this was the result of reliance on God by the Father of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace) and the fruit of his steadfastness during his years in exile.
Elsewhere in his speech, praising the achievements of the Islamic Republic in different arenas, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that Iran's introduction of a new political way of thought to the world under the banner of "popular religious rule" has been one of the commendable achievements, which enjoy both scientific and practical dimensions, based firmly on faith, resilient way of thinking and resolve.
He pointed to concerns and fears of the enemies about the spread of such a dynamic religious model throughout of the world and said that in view of this reality the US administration has come with a ludicrous scenario against the Islamic Republic, at a time when it is faced with the rapid spread of the public protests resulting from the Occupy Wall Street movement.
He added, the absurd scenario of the alleged terrorist plot by Tehran, is so evidently nonsense, illogical and without the least principle that every possessor of logic and all experts in the world have dismissed the allegation.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei considered such fabrications by the US as an attempt to divert public opinion and overshadow the Occupy Wall Street movement and said they tried to accuse the noble nation of Iran with terrorism, white the US itself is the biggest terrorist of today's world.
The Leader went on to say, the people in the region and the world saw the double attitude of the US and the West vis-à-vis the developments in Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya and that their duality would be exposed soon in other cases.
Ayatollah Khamenei finally considered the Islamic Republic of Iran as the focal point of the movement in the region and across the globe and reiterated that because of this the enemies are attempting to disappoint the people, especially the youths and officials, in order to hinder the progress. However, he noted, the youth and officials have –as always before – stood up with trust in on God and with great hope toward the future.
