Mexicans are preparing to vote in a presidential, parliamentary and local elections dominated by the economy and war on drugs.
More than 70 million people are eligible to cast their ballots on Sunday and choose their president, members of parliament as well as state governors.
Former governor of Mexico State Enrique Pena Nieto, who is PRI party candidate, is seen by many as the leading candidate.
However, thousands of people took to the streets in Mexico City on Saturday to protest against the Institutional Revolutionary Party's (PRI) candidate. Protesters are concerned about possible vote-rigging.
Nieto’s main opponents are left-wing politician Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and Josefina Vazquez Mota from the ruling conservative PAN party.
With nearly one third of the Mexican population living in extreme poverty, the economy has been one of the main issues in the campaign.
Another issue dominating the campaign is the war on drugs launched nearly six years ago by President Felipe Calderon.
The main opposition candidates say that more than 55,000 people have been killed in drug-related violence since 2006.
