Abyaneh Appointed as Iran's Ambassador to Mexico

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Mohammad Hassan Ghadiri Abyaneh was assigned as the Islamic Republic of Iran's ambassador to Mexico.

The 54-year old Abyaneh, who also speaks Italian and English, is due to replace the incumbent ambassador to Mexico city, Rouhi Sefat, who also serves as Iran's accredited ambassador to Panama, Nicaragua, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Costa Rica.

A look at the foreign policy of President Ahmadinejad's administration illustrates the strategic importance of the post of the Islamic Republic's ambassador to Mexico.

Ever since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Abyaneh, who holds a PhD degree in architecture and strategic sciences, has served as an advisor to the chairman of Iran's Expediency Council, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, press attaché of Iran's embassy in Italy, deputy foreign minister for public relations, director general of the foreign ministry's information and press bureau, advisor to the foreign minister, Iran's ambassador to Australia and deputy head of the presidential office during Rafsanjani's term of office.
