Nothing New Or Unexpected In ElBaradei’s Report

Nothing New Or Unexpected In ElBaradei’s Report

TEHRAN, Apr. 29 (MNA) -- On Friday, the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Mohamed ElBaradei released a report on Iran’s nuclear program as demanded by the UN Security Council on March 29. The Security Council had set Iran a non-binding, 30-day deadline - running out Friday - to comply with demands to halt enrichment.

The Mehr News Agency talked to some MPs and political analysts on Saturday to learn their views on the matter.

International affairs analyst, Mohammad-Hassan Ghadiri Abyaneh, argued that the report showed that the IAEA is totally dependent on major powers especially the United States.

The decisions that the IAEA board has taken about Iran’s nuclear dossier in the past three years have been based on the “law of the jungle” and not the NPT. “According to this law any country that has more power can impose its illogical demands on other nations.”
